Receptionists: |

Raised in Muleshoe, Texas, Dr. Jones attended Texas A & M University where he graduated with honors from the College of Veterinary Medicine in 1981. Dr. Jones specializes in small animal medicine with an emphasis in general and orthopedic surgery. Birds and exotics are also areas of special interest for him.
An avid pet lover, Dr. Jones has numerous "four-legged" kids, but Bozley, his Golden Retriever and Missy, his Papillon, are rarely far from his side.
A sports nut and "semi-professional" card player, Dr. Jones is a huge Mavericks and Cowboys fan.

Dr. Becky ("Big Mac") was an Air Force brat who calls San Antonio home. James Herriot's series of books about veterinary medicine in England in the 30's were her inspiration to become a doctor, from eight years of age. She also attended Texas A & M University, graduating with honors from the College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002.
Reptiles and amphibians are some of her areas of special interest. She has 2 dogs, including her best bud, "Zack." In her spare time, Dr. Becky enjoys off-roading and is learning to play the bass guitar.

Receptionists

Ali grew up in Dallas, where her family still lives. She is in her 4th year of college at UNT, majoring in fashion design. Her two great loves are her Great Danes, Oliver and Dallas, along with her two cats, Bird and Yoko. When not studying or working, she enjoys spending time with her pets, her friends, and of course her friends pets too!

Hali has worked at veterinary hospitals since she was 15. She is currently an english literature major at UNT with plans to graduate in May of 2008. Hali and her boyfriend have a menagerie of animals, including Cassiopeia, Marvel Girl, and Hobbes, her three cats, and Scout and Jolie, the collies. Hali manages the front desk, but is also frequently found assisting in surgery and trauma cases. If this doesn't keep her busy enough, she also pet sits on the side!

Geri, our receptionist, is originally from the Windy City, Chicago. She moved her 7 years ago, and says she likes the winters a whole lot better! One of our four receptionists, Geri has been with Southridge for 3 years. Her two beautiful dobermans are named Rio Bravo, and Raven (Raven was a rescue from the pound here in Denton) and she is rarely seen outside the hospital without them both by her side. Her hobbies include art, photography, and, of course, animals!
topDawn is our "utility infielder" in that she can and does play any position at the hospital. receptionist 2 days, then anesthesia tech for 3, Dawn is the consummate "team player". The youngest of the 7 children, she was born in Jamestown, N.Y., with her family moving here to North Texas when she was a baby. In her off time, she likes to spend time with her boyfriend and their four-legged kids, Sugar, the Rotty, Lady, their cat, Cartman, their puppy, and Abigail, the lab mix. Dawn is very "arty" and enjoys painting, and sculpting.

Technicians

When questions arise on the phone and the receptionists don't know the answer, they usually come to Rachael, our Chief of Nursing. Rachael was born and raised in Lewisville where her family owned a boarding kennel. Her special interests here at the hospital are anesthesia and surgery. Rachael is a true animal lover, that competes with her rescued border collie mix "Moxie" in Canine Agility and Obedience competitions. Rachael and Moxie also volunteer in the Denton community and surrounding areas as a therapy dog team, visiting local hospitals and nursing homes weekly. She also has 3 cats, Kobie, Thurston, and her tripod kitty, Sully.

Kendra is from Gainesville where family still lives. She attends UNT and is majoring in Business, hoping to go into her father's business some day. She has always been involved with animals, from riding and training horses, to working here at Southridge. She has two pets, Lucy, a Queensland Heeler, and a kitten, Ash. When not working or going to school, she enjoys hanging out with her family and her five siblings.
topParker grew up here in Denton and currently attends Texas A&M, where she is majoring in Pre-Veterinary Medicine. Parker has been working at Southridge for six years, and through Dr Jones' mentoring, she hopes to get into Texas A&M's college of veterinary medicine. Her special interests are radiology and orthopedics. When not studying or working, she enjoys horseback riding, road trips, and general Tomfoolery.

Brittany is a another local product, having grown up right here in Denton. She is currently attending NCTC, and is planning to transfer to UNT, majoring in interior design. When not working or going to school, she spends time with her two Cocker Spaniels, Later and Gilligan, and pet sits on the side.

Cecilia or "Cee Cee" as we call her is our volunteer that was born in Argentina, but grew up in Lake Dallas. She is a sophomore at Texas A&M, majoring in Pre-Vet. Cee Cee has two chihuahuas, Bijou and Inelchi. In her spare time she likes to read, play the guitar, and hang out with her friends.

Caroline or "Cee Dawg" grew up in Grapevine. She is in her junior year at UNT pursuing a degree in biology. After graduation she is planning on applying to Texas A&M's college of veterinary medicine. She has three labs, Honey, Monte Kia, and Dixon, and two cats, Julie and Molly. Cee Dawg is the newest member of the nursing staff, and is developing into an excellent ICU nurse.

Katie is a sophomore chemistry major at Texas A&M and will be applying its Vet School in 2 years. Katie has been with Southridge for 3 years and her forte is in surgical prep and recovery. When not working or studying she enjoys playing her violin in the university orchestra, and participating in the Pre-Vet Society. Katie is another student that is part of Dr Jones' mentorship program.

Amanda grew up in Florida, but moved to Texas in '98, graduating from Ponder High School. She a senior biology major at UNT and plans to apply to Veterinary School at Texas A&M after graduation. Her and her boyfriend have 3 dogs, Selena, a cocker, Loki, a border collie, and Lila, a toy poodle, and two cats Braveheart and Draco. Her special interests here at Southridge include dentistry, and laughing at Dr Jones' jokes, (because somebody has to!). When not working Amanda enjoys volunteering, reading, or playing with her dogs.
