Dr. Kyle Jones, D.V.M.

Raised in Muleshoe, Texas, Dr. Jones attended Texas A & M University where he graduated with honors from the College of Veterinary Medicine in 1981. Dr. Jones specializes in small animal medicine with an emphasis in general and orthopedic surgery. Birds and exotics are also areas of special interest for him.

An avid pet lover, Dr. Jones has numerous "four-legged" kids, but Bozley, his Golden Retriever and Missy, his Papillon, are rarely far from his side.

A sports nut and "semi-professional" card player, Dr. Jones is a huge Mavericks and Cowboys fan.

Dr. Kit Hunsberger

Dr. Hunsberger received her Bachelor's degree from Texas A & M University in 1999 and graduated from the Texas A & M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. Although she grew up a Navy brat who went to high school in north Austin, she moved to the metroplex area after graduation to practice small animal medicine. She enjoys working with the owners to maintain the health of their pets. Outside of work she is a fan of live music and Aggie football, and she spends her down time with her two dogs, her friends, and, lately, her kitchen trying to figure out just how far her cooking skills extend.

Receptionists

Ali

Ali grew up in Dallas, where her family still lives. She is in her 4th year of college at UNT, majoring in fashion design. Her two great loves are her Great Danes, Oliver and Dallas, along with her two cats, Bird and Yoko. When not studying or working, she enjoys spending time with her pets, her friends, and of course her friends pets too!

Hali

Hali has worked at veterinary hospitals since she was 15 and has been a part of the Southridge family for many years! She graduated from the University of North Texas with her degree in English in May 2009 and is currently enrolled in graduate classes. Hali and her boyfriend have a menagerie of animals, including Cassiopeia, Marvel Girl, and Hobbes, her three cats, and Scout and Jolie, the collies. Hali manages the front desk, but is also frequently found assisting in surgery and trauma cases. If this doesn't keep her busy enough, she also pet sits on the side!

Geri

Geri, another one of our receptionists, is originally from the Windy City. She moved from Chicago several years ago and says she likes the winters a whole lot better! Her beautiful doberman Rio Bravo and his best friend Peaches, a little siamese kitten, are always by her side. Her hobbies include art, photography, and, of course, animals!

Dawn

Dawn has been a technician for 4 years and has a member of the Southridge family since 2006. Not only is she one of our more experienced receptionists she was also appointed the position Chief of Nursing last summer! As Head Tech Dawn specialized in client education and communication and enjoys the many perks of working with animals!

Dawn is the consummate "team player". The youngest of the 7 children, she was born in New York but moved to Denton when she was a baby. In her off time, she likes to spend time her four-legged kids, Sugar, the Rotty, Lady, their cat, Cartman. Dawn is very "arty" and enjoys painting, and sculpting.

Lydia

Lydia: Lydia was born in Mayfield Village, Ohio. She and her family moved to Denton 17 years ago to escape the harsh winters and to move closer to her family. She is a 3rd year Biology major at the University of North Texas and plans to attend Texas A&M for veterinary medicine! WHen she is not working or going to school she enjoys playing tennis and running. She has a strong love for all animals, especially her car Sarah who she has has for the past 14 years.

Technicians

 

Chris

Chris, our local Surgical Technician, is originally from Chi Town South Chicago. Chris says he has always wanted to be a Texas and is very happy here. Thanks to early retirement from the Fire Service he was able to change states as well as
professions. As long as he is helping someone he is happy, regardless if they have 2 legs or 4 legs! In his off time he likes to spend time with his cat, Kee Kee.

Kiara

Kiara has been working with animals since 2006 and has been a member of the Southridge family since 2008. A born and raised Texan she enjoys working with animals of all shapes and sizes, from horses and cows to cats and dogs. Kiara is a student at the University of North Texas and plans to get her degree in phycology. Kiara's hobbies include playing with her 2 year old border collie Rocko!

Kim

Kim was born and raised in Texas. She currently lives in Lake Dallas, where she graduated from High School. Kim's love for animals stared in high school when she was involved in FFA. Kim's pet family currently includes her 5 rats, Jacques, Gus Gus, Bambi, Ariel and Perdy, a bird named Cat, and a dog named Daisy. Kim has been a veterinary technician for 3 years and has been part of the Southridge family for 1 year. She has always loved animals and hopes to follow this passion to a life-long career. In her spare time Kim enjoys crafts, scrap-booking and making greeting cards.

Alyson

Alyson was born an army brat in Wahiawa, Hawaii, where her family was stationed for 5 years. She moved to Plano, TX when she was 4 and has lived in the North Texas area ever since. She is a Public Relations major and a Spanish minor at the University of North Texas. Upon graduation she plans on working as a PR representative for a record company. She has a 1 1/2 year old boxer names Marley. She has always loved animals and has worked with numerous recuses and day cares since she was young.

Kendra

Kendra is from Gainesville where family still lives. She attends UNT and is majoring in Business, hoping to go into her father's business some day. She has always been involved with animals, from riding and training horses, to working here at Southridge. She has two pets, Lucy, a Queensland Heeler, and a kitten, Ash. When not working or going to school, she enjoys hanging out with her family and her five siblings.
